This classic of numismatic publishing, first released in 1973 and updated in 1980, is reprinted due to popular demand. It still serves as the best start to an understanding of coins inscribed in Arabic, from the Ottoman Empire to more modern Arabic coins, then on to Persian and Indian coins. The book includes information on numerals, dating, the alphabet and mints, including a list of vocabulary and chronological lists of rulers in the Appendices.
From a personal point of view, I've had a second-hand copy on of this book on my desk since first dealing in Arabic/Islamic Coins. It's a great book for an introduction into understanding Arabic coins.
