Vintage Ruby and Diamond Stud earrings in 18ct white gold.
 
A pair of substantially made cluster earrings dating from 1960. The earrings are in pretty good condition with the posts and backs being modern replacements, but both of 198ct white gold.
 
Measurements: Approximately 8.5mm in diameter standing a maximum of 6.4mm off the ear (the main setting is 4.5mm deep).
 
Diamonds: Approximately 0.20 cts in total  (estimated) over 8x Eight Cuts in each earring (just over 1pt each).

Rubies: 2x 4mm diameter Rubies of a rich, deep red, colour. These are well matched and have few inclusions.
 
Gross Weight: 4.28 g total
 
Marks/Metal: Partially obliterated marks due to replacement earring posts. Possibly IW, London Marks for 18ct gold, 1960.
 
Condition: Other than evidence of the posts and backs being replaced, these are in very good condition. There is very light wear to the earrings but they are in excellent condition for their age.
 
All vintage items have been worn and loved before they find their next owner, so they should always be worn or used with a little more care than a brand new piece. Some minor scratches are normal. All vintage pieces I sell have been thoroughly cleaned and lightly polished when required. If repairs are needed before it's offered for sale, they are completed sympathetically.
